Objects lying flat and well apart, plus a rectangle whose long side you know. A plain table is fine, the detection allows for uneven light, reflections and polished steel.

Ignore shapes touching the photo edge

Click a shape in the photo to make it the reference. Sensitivity moves both detection limits at once: raise it if part of a tool is missing, lower it if the table comes along. Gaps are joined so that a tool broken into pieces by a reflection still comes out as one outline.

The footprint follows the grid, so the box sits in a drawer next to Gridfinity bins. It has no stepped foot and does not click into a baseplate.

The feet are loose parts that push into slots in the base from below and snap in. Their outline is the Gridfinity foot profile, so each one beds into the baseplate along its straight section and chamfer; one per outer cell wall, sitting off centre so the box can not turn. With the snap lock on, the tuck flap is sized automatically to reach the floor nearest the base, and its arrow tabs snap under that floor. The barb sets how firmly they hold. Score lines are cut partially: set the blue layer so that only the inner liner is left, then each fold pivots on that liner as the geometry assumes. The net is cut outside up, so each score opens as it folds. Corrugated board tends to fold more cleanly along the flutes, so run them up and down in the cut layout, parallel to the tight roll folds of the side walls. Perforation uses the normal cut layer instead.

Floors

Pocket depth from the top (mm)

Max gap between boards (mm)

Ear width (mm)

Solid floors below the niche too

The pocket depth runs from the top face down to the solid floor that carries the object; set it to the object's thickness for a flush fit. Floors above it get the cutout. The max gap is the clear space between two boards.

Place them in the Top view tab. They go through the top panel and every floor with a cutout, down to the niche floor.
