I am (as of September 2026) a third year PhD student in the EECS department at MIT. I work on Spintronics with Prof. Luqiao Liu. More specifically, I study magnetic semiconductor devices and their magnetoelectric coupling properties.
I come from a long experience of pen-and-paper work. After an IPhO 2021 medal in high school, and an undergraduate degree in Mathematics in Physics at Ecole Polytechnique, I got to a point where Quantum Physics wouldn’t scare me at all, but tightening a screw would.
After joining MIT, I quickly found that the latter is actually more useful than the former when doing experimental research. Experiments rarely come readily assembled, and when they do, they are other very expensive, or you happen to be lucky and have one handed over from your older peers. Not being that lucky, I had no choice but catch up. My participation in this course will hopefully be the end to my catching up.
