Who is writing all of this
Hi everyone, and welcome to my website — which will (hopefully) document all of my work throughout this course.
My name is Victor. I am 23 years old and a graduate student at MIT Sloan. My background is in math and economics, so I come in with no technical training in construction or fabrication. This may end up looking a little underwhelming next to my classmates' work. In my defense: I did once build a fully functional sailboat.*
Outside of school, sailing is my thing, I am an instructor back home in France and I have done a few regattas as an official skipper on J80 and Nacra 500 (my dream would be to take a year to sail around the world). I've worked 1 year in finance (M&A and PE) and hope not to work there in the future even though I have learnt a lot in both companies I've worked for. Regarding locations, I have spent most of my life living abroad (Slovenia, Romania, the Netherlands and Italy), which I think has made me curious, outgoing, and pretty adaptable. Also, I love meeting new people.
That's all about me for now. Wish me luck, I hope I make it through this class. This is the very first assignment and I am already struggling :)
