This is an 18 credit class, requiring ∼18 hours per week for lecture, design, training, prototyping, and documentation. The course grade is based 80% on satisfying the weekly assignments with adequate documentation to show how to reproduce your work, and 20% on a final project showing an ability to integrate the skills. The cutoff for submitting the former, and receiving materials for the latter, will be Dec. 5, preceding the final week of classes. Work following this date is intended to be for debugging rather than development. Grading evaluates familiarity with the relative roles of each of the skills covered, an ability to demonstrate and integrate their use, and awareness of how to master more advanced applications. All sources used (including AI) must be acknowledged. The class requires and provides shop access, which must be used safely, responsibly, and respectfully.
