Bio

I explore how design and computation can make relationships between people, space, and complex systems more visible, legible, and actionable.

I am from Indonesia and a second-year master’s student in Architecture Studies (SMArchS) Urbanism at MIT. I work as a researcher at the MIT Urban Risk Lab under Prof. Miho Mazereeuw, where we focus on disaster resilience and risk communication with communities, agencies such as FEMA, and nonprofits.

I am also a Design Lead at NASA JPL on an Earth science project in geochemistry with principal investigator Prof. François Tissot of Caltech's Isotoparium.

My background is primarily in architecture, computational design, and software development. I have worked extensively with Rhino and Grasshopper, including developing C#-based computational design tools and AI-assisted design workflows. I also have some experience with digital fabrication and prototyping.

Why HTMAA

I am taking MAS.863 How to Make (almost) Anything to bridge my computational work with physical systems. In computational design, form is something I can generate, rearrange, and recompute on screen. In this class, I want to see what happens when that flexibility moves into the physical world.

My final project is a modular reconfigurable robot: identical modules that connect with magnets and rotate against each other, so the same pieces can reshape into different structures, much like a parametric system built from physical parts.

My hands-on experience with electronics, embedded systems, PCB design, and advanced fabrication is still limited, so each week of the class builds a piece of the robot while I learn these skills.

This site is written in plain HTML and CSS with a small JavaScript file, without a framework or site generator.

Use of AI

I used Claude Code, Anthropic's AI coding assistant, as a regular part of my workflow in this class:

  • Debugging: finding and fixing problems in my code, my circuits' firmware, and this website.
  • Website and documentation: building and maintaining the page layout, organizing assets, and editing the written documentation from my notes, photos, and screenshots.

The design decisions, fabrication, electronics, and final projects are my own work.
